Camille Morineau

L’autre continent (The other continent) brings together nine women artists born or living in sub-Saharan Africa and using different techniques: painting, video, performance, installations and sculpture. Originating in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Madagascar, and Zimbabwe, uby onyinyechi amanze, Malala Andrialavidrazana, Mimi Cherono Ng’ok, Virginia Chihota, Lebohang Kganye, Zanele Muholi et Fatou Kandé Senghor are members of a new generation, born between 1970 and the early 1990s, and are at different degrees of recognition, ranging from internationally recognised to never seen in France. Their works will be shown with those of two pioneering figures, Seni Awa Camara (born c. 1945 in Bignona, Senegal) and Sue Williamson (born in 1941 in England, living in South Africa since 1948).
